Green Banana Breakfast Bowl
So simple. So nutritious. So delicious! I have been making this for my breakfast, interspersed with cacao chia seeds, most days over the last few weeks. And I have learnt the hard way (because it kept being stolen) to make a portion for Savannah too!

Liberation
I have spent the last two decades unbinding myself from my stories, from inherited stories, from my wounds, from expectations. Do I still have more to do!? Yes! I have no doubt it will be a life’s work. However, because I have chosen to live a life by my own design, based on my intuition first + foremost, I have naturally been very distant from many of the aspects of society that have made most people numb to the realisation that freedom comes from within, and cannot easily be taken away from you.
Carrot + Coriander Soup
I love carrot + coriander soup. Delicious! I was really happy when I threw this together the other day. The addition of the coconut yoghurt really added a great deal.
Easy Raw Chocolates
Easy to make. No homogenised, pasteurised, or any milk of any kind. No refined sugar. Raw cacao, so full of nutrients! What else could you want? Amazing flavour? It has that too. If you have been too scared to make raw chocolates before, delve in - there is nothing to be scared about - it is simple and the outcome is to be marvelled!
Hempesan
Beyond easy! You can mix up the type of seeds you use, cashews work well too, although you would then have to call it ‘pumpesan’ (pumpkin seeds) or ‘cashes’ (you get the idea!).
Enjoy on pasta dishes, on soups…basically anywhere you want! I have yet to meet someone who does not love this.
Nutritional yeast
Nutritional Yeast - also referred to as Nooch! Cheesy, nutty, plant based goodness. Super versatile. Lots of vitamins and minerals. What’s not to love!?
Why I love my dehydrator
As I sit here now in my office, cacao in hand, children asleep in our Family Bed, I can hear the gentle hum of it in my kitchen. It is a running joke in my home that I am always drying something out. My dehydrator is pretty much always on! To be honest I often leave it on even when the ‘thing’ I am currently drying out is already dry because the sound is so soothing to me, and I love the gentle warmth that comes from it in my kitchen.
Homemade Thai Curry Sauce
I didn’t think I would ever be posting a curry recipe that used chilli. I am so averse to really spicy food. We never had it growing up so I am not used to it. However, Riverford kept sending chillis to me last year so I started to experiment. I love that I can make this sauce super quickly, and use it as a base to a very quick evening meal. I soak the rice in the morning and then throw it all together later, ready for dinner. I have included how I use the sauce in the blog post, but you could use it however you fancy.
Returning Home to our Purpose
The other day I was sitting writing notes on a knowledge that was downloading to me, thanks to all of the information I have been absorbing (I am going to reference those who have been teaching me at the end). I wanted to share with you my initial download. This is the process I have been on, and continue to integrate right now. This is the process I know I am here to lead others towards.
'Cheese' + Wild Garlic Scones (Vegan + GF)
This recipe is adapted to be vegan and gluten free from a recipe that came in our monthly Mud + Bloom seasonal gardening + craft box. I strongly recommend the boxes, they are so beautifully put together.
I wasn’t sure if this would work because I haven’t had a load of luck with gluten free, vegan scones before, but it worked really well.
Let Me Clear My Throat
It then came to me that I literally had something in my throat that I needed to clear, that I needed to bring out of me and into the world. For about 4 weeks now I have been repeatedly receiving the message that I need to start writing poems. I used to write poems all the time in my teenage years. I am no Poet Laureate, by any stretch of the imagination, but I took a great joy from it, and yet it is something I haven’t done now for about 25 years! I had no idea why I was being called to it again, and up until this point in bed didn’t pay much attention to it. Suddenly however I sat up in bed, picked up my phone, and this poured out of me.
Pear Almond Cinnamon Cake
One of Caleb’s favourite cakes, even though he hates pears!?! It is a great way to use up pears that are getting a little too ripe, or just to use pears because the cake tastes good!
Really good served with CoYo coconut yoghurt. A nice breakfast cake too, if you feel so inclined!
Chia Seeds
Chia is a small, round South American seed that is very popular with those who are interested in healthy living. Those of you who have used flaxseed before will be familiar with the fact that it absorbs a lot of water and hence swells when exposed to it. Chia is the same in this respect, and in fact has a lot of similar qualities to flax, but even more beyond this - I have heard it referred to as 'flaxseed on crack' ;-)
Chia Seed Breakfast Pudding
Savannah’s favourite breakfast. Make it the night before for an easy, fibre packed, omega 3 rich breakfast, topped with fresh fruit and cacao nibs.
Where We Bleed
I can’t remember my first bleed. When I was training to be a Moon Mother we went through an exercise together, remembering our first bleeds, and processing the potential trauma, which sadly most women there felt around it. The fact that I don’t remember mine I assume suggests I had no trauma around mine, which isn’t a surprise because I remember my Mom always being open about her period (although she definitely did not have a love affair with it - sadly for her it was always a painful process). Most women in the room had felt shame around their first bleed, or were even surprised about it, having never even known it was coming. I never felt any of these things, it just felt very normal to me, so much so I was there to support my friends as it came to them.
Banana Cake
When I was first dating Josh his mum wanted to bake me a cake. He still lived with his mum (at 29 years old), so when I visited him, I visited her too. Amanda loves to bake, but didn’t know how she was going to make a vegan cake. A quick google, with the help of Josh’s cousin Caroline, and she came across a banana date cake. I was not gluten free at the time, but when Caleb came along Amanda baked this cake for him, and he loved it, so as we became gluten free as a family, 7 years ago now, I had to adapt the recipe. This is how it ended up…and I replaced the dates with chocolate, because we all prefer it that way!
On Pride

I have very real concerns about the experimental nature of what the majority of people are running off merrily to get pumped into their bodies all around us. I knew from very early on that this is what ‘they’ wanted this to lead to, whether it be for money or more sinister intentions (in my opinion, both!), but I had such hope that people would figure it out in time and not succumb to it. I know many have, and the numbers are rising every day, but most have not.
Tomato, Courgette & Borlotti Bean Soup
Born out of a glut of tomatoes and courgettes in my veg boxes all through last year, the whole family love this easy to make and nutritious soup.
The Family Bed
I am so grateful I have had this experience with my children. So grateful! I will miss it when it is over, but I know it will feel right when it happens. Our relationship without doubt would not be what it is today without co-sleeping. The closeness and trust it has fostered is beyond measure. Those cuddles, the giggles and quiet conversations as we go to sleep together in the darkness, and seeing them as the first thing I see, and them me, when we wake up in the morning. I feel blessed to have had, and to continue to have those moments.
Healthy Tiffin
My friend Ania introduced me to raw chocolate, and this is very similar to the first thing she made me. It is so simple and full of nourishment. I hope you love it as much as we all do.
